Mission
The Elder-CorpsTM is an idea whose time has come. It builds on the sense of purpose and meaning that birthed the great social movements of the mid-20th century, movements that sought solutions to the challenges of human rights, civil rights, woman’s rights, hunger, economic disparity, addiction and environmental degradation.
It is dedicated to carrying these initiatives forward using the skills and experience of the Second Half of Life generations at this time when so many social advancements are now being called into question. The Second Half of Life generations have a crucial role yet to play.
Vision
Elder-Corps rekindles the inspiration of the Kennedy years. It calls upon the
generation who came of age then to re-fire their lives and reinvest their talents and rebuild bridges of collaboration with the younger generations.
John F. Kennedy inspired us with his call:
“Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country.”
In this spirit, Elder-CorpsTM now challenges all of us: “Ask not what the Earth can do for you. Ask what you can do for Earth and humanity at this critical time in our history.”
